Island from a post card 🏖️
Every view in Taormina felt like it was from an old postcard.
There scenes had become so iconic and widely recognized that, to my younger eyes, they seemed almost clichéd — even though I hadn’t yet reached those faraway places.
Compared to other attractions here, like the minimal yet elegant Chiesa di San Giuseppe facade, the still-operating ancient Greek-Roman theatre and its Mt. Etna view, I didn’t feel anything special about Isola Bella.
In fact I didn’t bother walking down the steps to the beach because of the sun heat. Instead, I found a belvedere near my hotel, sat there, and just watched.
